I have a hyperlink that will not work in a packaged CD slide show

I have a 3 slide show that the last page contains links to 5 other short (5-8
page) slide shows. The link from page 1 to page 3 works fine in Powerpoint,
but once I package the show on a CD and let it autorun, that link to page 3
will not work.
However, if I go into the CD with Explorer and clink on the .pps file in the
directory the link works fine. If I activate the "play.bat" file in the
directory the link does not work. How is that possible since the play.bat
file executes the .pps file on the disc?
I don't see how it could work when you click on the .pps file and then not
work when you click on the play.bat file that then activates that same exact
file, but that is exactly what is happening.

Play.bat launches the PPS in the PPT Viewer, while double-clicking the PPS
launches the PPS in PowerPoint.

So it sounds like the link works in PPT, but not in the Viewer. I think
we've seen reports of that here; hopefully someone with a better memory than
I will pop in with information on it.

When I remember right: the play.bat and all the files for the viewer must be
on the root of the CD, none of them should be in a another folder. The
..pps-file can be located in a different folder. Then it should run by
activating the play.bat - I hope...
