i have a picture in the middle of my TOC, how do I get it out?

I've checked formatting, I've checked in all the hyperlinks for my TOC. I
don't see it anywhere except on view. How in the world do I get it out of
there. It just moved itself into that location for whatever reason and I
can't get it out! Thank you.

At a guess, you inserted the picture after the TOC had been generated. When
you generate the TOC, Word inserts bookmarks around your headings. If you
press Enter at the beginning of a heading paragraph, you get the inserted
paragraph inside that bookmark, and it becomes part of the text picked up
for the TOC. Cut the photo, insert a new paragraph by pressing Enter at the
end of the paragraph before the heading, and Paste the photo. Note also that
the photo will be picked up by the TOC if the paragraph it's in is in a
heading style (or any other style with an outline level other than Body Text
applied), which would also be the case if you pressed Enter at the beginning
of a heading. So just changing the style of the paragraph the picture is in
to Normal or Body Text would probably have the desired effect.
