I have difficulty finding active cell

I am unable to locate the active cell, in windows it was highlighted in black, in mac it is a light blue and virtually impossible to find, causing errors and lost time and productivity. I searched help and menus to no avail, please help me change the appearance of active cells to something visible. I am new to APPLE... sorry if this is dumb question.

Change the highlight color in system preferences, appearance. Then quit and
restart Excel.

Yes, but remember that this will NOT work in Excel 2008!

I only have excel green or graphite as choices. Neither are very visible. I tried playing with transparency flag and % but no good. Also, I'm a 2008 guy so rowliner doesnt' help.

Any thoughts would be great ... I really have to work to find the active celll.

Can't tell from your post if you understand that highlight colors in XL
come from the highlight color selected in your SYSTEM preferences.

Choose the System Preferences... item from the Apple menu. In the
Appearance pane, choose one of the 8 suggested colors from the Highlight
Color dropdown (or choose Other and set your own).

Close and restart XL - that color will now be used to highlight the
active cell.

Thanks. So simple once you know where to look. I can see the active cell again
