I have lost all of my email

I recently installed the Office update. After doing so I was prompted to
reconfigure outlook. I could not access outlook until I set up an account. I
did and it only had a few new emails (the ones I did not previousily
download) and the rest were gone.

I have unhidden all of my files and have searched extensively for .pst
files, etc. All of my old email and addresses seems to have vanished.
Unfortunately my last email backup was from May 2005.

Any additional suggestions, PLEASE???

Dear Readers,

I'm very embarrassed to admit this but the reason I lost my e-mail was that
outlook was installed but my email was sitting (and readable) in outlook
express...

On my home desktop I use outlook express but on all of my other computers
(office and laptop) I use outlook.
