i have lost emails after file transfer

I have recently upgraded to windows Vista. I had set up my email accounts and
everything has been running ok for a couple of days until i could get myself
organised to run 'Transfer Files and Settings' from my old computer. I
finally got all my files transfered and settings, but now when I go into
outlook I have lost all my emails and data fom the previous couple of days. I
tried doing a system restore back to beforre the file transfer which worked
fine except it did not remove any of the freshly loaded outlook data and
emails. If I can find the emails from the last couple of days i'll be happy.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Randall

When you used Outlook before doing the transfer, you accumulated some
new messages in your Personal Folders File (.PST file). When you
transferred, you probably overwrote the new .PST file with the old one,
so you lost your new mail messages.

Do the transfer again, but first rename your existing (new) .PST file.
Then with Outlook open both .PST files, and merge (drag-and-drop) your
mail into one folder. Close the one you don't need any more.

Bugger! I was hoping there may be some way of retrieving the emails.
Thanks very much for your help.
