You're kinda SOL. Microsoft no longer supports Office 2000 so they won't
help you. I'd suggest you start looking for that case.

Hi katie87.

I might have a solution for you.

Go here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823570 and
follow the suggestion in this MS article. One thing though...it is
suggested that you go to this key below in registry.
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" to
obtain the "uninstall key" and it might show up there in your PC. However,
when I checked in the registry I found both the uninstall key and the
ProductID in this location -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\
- but it may depend on the OS you are using, or what ever it can be.

Just search through the products and double-click on them to expand and when
you see the place where Office is you will also see "InstallProperties" and
if you mark that one you will (hopefully) see on the right side the
DisplayName, DisplayVersion and also the ProductID and etc.

Hope this will help.

Gunilla.

HTF will that help?! The ProductID is *NOT* the installation key! It is
generated *AFTER* installation. The installation key is *NOT* stored in the
registry. Get your facts straight before offering false hope...

Oh yes, that is right. Good someone take care of correcting others. :)) I
guess I am the only one leaving misinformation in these groups, sorry!
