i have no clue why my word documents can't be printed....and when i look into
my folder or when i save my documents, these letters always [well now] appear
..doc at the end. i think this is the problem why i can't print these
documents because before i didn't have them and i could print it. Also, when
I tired to renaming the document, it said that the file may not be usable
however it was. It also changed to file type instead of a Microsoft Word
Document type. Can you help me because I really don't know what's the
problem?

Based on the information you have provided, and failed to
provide, I would say the most likely causes of the problem are:
1. You don't have a printer connected to your computer.
2. Your printer is not connected to your computer, or is not
plugged in, or is not turned on.
3. Your printer is out of paper, out of ink, or out of toner.
4. You don't know where to find the Print button or Print
command in Word.
5. The default printer in Windows is not the same as your
printer.
6. The currently selected printer in Word is not the same as
your printer.

In addition to what garfield-n-odie has told you, the .doc that you are
seeing at the end of the filename is the file extension for the Word
document file type. It does not affect printing. Whether you see it or not
depends on your setting in Windows. In Windows Explorer (or My Computer), on
the View tab of Tools | Folder Options, there is a check box for "Hide file
extensions for known file types." The Word .doc extension is a known file
type, so it will be hidden if that box is checked.

When file extensions are hidden, you can rename a file without worrying
about the extension, which will not be changed, but when the extension is
displayed, you must be careful not to delete or change the extension when
you rename the file. If you do, then you will not be able to open the file
in Word by double-clicking on it, and Word will not display it in its File
Open dialog unless you have All Files selected (not if you have Word
Documents or All Word Documents selected).

Is there a printer connected to the computer either locally or through a
network?

If you navigate to Start Printers and Settings, what, if anything
appears on the list to the right?

What happens if you have a document open in word and click on File
Print? Does any message appear on the screen? If so, what is the
contents?
