ok so on my computer i have microsoft office 2003. my friend made a power
point on 2007 and didn't save it to a readable 2003 format. So i figured i
could download the trial for 2007 install it get the file save as a readable
2003 file and uninstall office 2007. unfortunately i was wrong in thinking
that it would install separate and it patched 2003 up to 2007. during the
install it had an error so i canceled it. now i have no office or so i think.
can i just reinstall office and then everything be ok or do i need to
uninstall stuff and then reinstall please help me my parents are going to
kill me.

i want to have all the settings and emails and folders and stuff that i have
back. is it possible to get it back.

i went on my other computer and looked for the microsoft office directory.
iside it i found a folder called office10. inside office 10 was all the files
and stuff for office including the ,exe for powerpoint excel word and
outlook. i went on my parents computer and say office11 and office12 but
there were no .exe for any office programs. is there a repair option that i
can select when i put in the XP cd or something

Office 10 is Office XP/2002
Office 11 is office 2003
Office 12 is Office 2007
Uninstall all office shown in Add/Remove dialogue
Reboot the PC, reinstall your office from Cd
Assuming its Office 2003, then download the Compatibility Pack to enable you
to open Office 2007 files

The best option would be if you had the installation cd for MSOffice
2003. Just uninstall and then re-install. Then go to the Microsoft site,
download and install the Compatibilty pack so you can open, edit, and
view Office 2007 Word documents.
On the other hand, you can try doing what is called a "System Restore".
You Google it if you don't how to do it. It is simple to do. If you know
how to do this, select a date before your installation of the trial
version of MSOffice 2007. Hopefully that will take care of your problem.

Uninstalling and re-installing Office /shouldn't/ affect any data but as in
all computing operations BACKUP your pst (Outlook data) file just to be
safe.
See here for info:

You can download a PowerPoint 2007 viewer to view the presentations. I
think you do not need to install a PowerPoint 2007 for view a .pptx
file. Download the PowerPoint 2007 viewer from the following link:

'Download details: PowerPoint Viewer 2007' (http://tinyurl.com/3buwr5)

Hope it helps!
