Hi
I have office 2003 teacher and student edition, I recently bought a netbook
and want to install office 2003 =, BUT I don't have a cd drive on the
netbook. pc world said I could download it from Microsoft - I have checked
the license this seems to agree bt I can't find the option on the site.

PCworld is wrong.
Have you thought about an external CD drive?

Either purchase an external USB CD drive or go to a computer that has a CD
drive on it and copy the entire contents of the CD onto an external USB
device (hard drive or thumb drive.) Use the files on the USB device to
install onto your netbook.

It is really amazing that this same problem has been written about on this
and other newsgroups many times. It is really more amazing that the
instructions received with the netbook doesn't tell you how to install
programs that come on a CD or DVD.

If you have another computer with a CD drive, or a friend with one, insert
the CD in the drive, do not install, select Explore. Copy all of the
contents to an External Drive or a USB drive. Take back your CD, and use
the external drive or your USB drive to install from there.

Even more so when Netbooks come with a CD or DVD recovery disk!

I have seen many netbooks come with programs on a SD flash drive of about
4-6 gigs.
