I've seen many posts of people receiving the 1328 error
when trying to install SP1 and SP2 for Office XP (2002).
Previous responses have stated that if you received this
error you did not have a valid or M$ supported copy of
Office XP, however, this is not true. I have a full
retail version and received this message. After searching
for a year, (took a year because MS didn't give a f***
about my copy not working) I've finally found help.

If you go to this link, you'll find a workaround for SP1
and a link to SP2's workaround also. I followed these
steps and was able to update with NO PROBLEMS!!!
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me
and I'll try to help.
