i have to click check names for it to work

I have Microsoft Office 2000 -- and am running off of Windows 98. My check
names feature worked before I added another email account (my other email
must have been maxed out and would not let me send/receive emails). I've
checked to see if the auto name check feature is marked -- it is. When I
type the name in the TO box and hit tab, it does not check the name without
me manually clicking the name check button.....any suggestions??
