I have to click on a shape forever to edit text

I used to be able to enter text in a shape easily. Now, I have to click about
a million times before it'll let me edit text.

When I click the 1st time, it highlights all the text. I keep on clicking,
and text remains highlighted, with the cursor arrow showing. After a long
time, the cursor thing shows (looks like an "I"), indicating I can now edit
the text, and the entire text is no longer high-lighted.

I need to be able to do this in less time.

After your initial click use one of the cursor keys and see if that
makes any difference.
