I keep getting errors when I send recieve email in outlook prof

I backed up my outlook when the shceduler asked if ai wanted to do so. now I
can no longer send or recieve emails. I keep getting a timed out message and
the error reads it can find the smtp server but it does not respond.

What scheduler asked you to backup Outlook? Just to double check, have you
checked with your ISP to see if they're having any issues? Did anything else
change in your PC/network setup?

it is in the task manager for outlook 2003 pro its scheduled once a week to
back up hte outlook business contact manager and emails. I cant seem to find
any internet setting that have changed I don't know if they would blocl the
emails from being sent. I can log on manually to my email server using the
explorerer window but I am stumped to what has changed between yesterday and
today.

It's a long shot but try removing & readding the mail account to see if it
helps

Disable you AV email scanner and try. You will still be protected
