I loose sight my photo when I scroll up and down

When I have inserted photos into a word doc, I loose partial or full sight of
the photo when I scroll down the page and the photo rises past the top of the
screen. It comes back eventually but it takes forever. I have have used Word
2003 before with same formatted reports but now that I have a new laptop and
newly installed Word 2003, this event occurs. I have already gone to tools,
options and picture placeholder is not checked.

I'll assume you mean that when you scroll the image somewhat
disappears versus seeing it the entire time that it is
scrolling...versus saying that it moves past the point of view.
Obviously, if it moves past your point of view you won't be able to
see it.

Assuming it's somewhat disappearing while scrolling...that usually
would mean that you don't have enough resources to have the screen
redrawn as it scrolls up. You can try to get more resources by
clearing your TEMP folder and kicking down your hardware accelerator
to give your video driver a bit more power.
