I need help!! with locked selections

I cannot use my office!!!! no options and no options is the office button /
word options either, it keeps telling me "No modifications can be made the
selection is locked" what the ^@^ is going on, I cant get into the Protect
document either, safe mode works but this option tells me nothing is
protected??
Help please????

Hey JoAnn, its an OEM came with new pc, safe mode tells me it IS activated
Its Office Small Business 07
