I Thank you in advance for your Help!

A better description of what you are trying to achieve and of the
difficulties you are encountering would be helpful.

Also, how is this connected to VBA?
Are you trying to do something programatically?

I appologize if my description was not clear...

I have created a document that is divided to sections.

Each section is a chapter.

I have created Headings (Heading1, Heading to... and so on)... Heading one
starts with the number: 1.

I need that heading one in each section/chapter will start with the number: 1.
and not continue to number the heading after the last Heading1 in the
Previous section.

I don't know how else to do it but try to create a macro that will do this
automatically when I open a new section...

I hope Im a lot clearer now....

Thank you for responding!

OK, I get it now!

No need for a macro.

Create your numbering styles without the number, in other words defne the
paragraph and font attributes of each numbering style before applying the
numbering.

Before you apply the numbering, make sure you do it correctly by reading
this very useful page:
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html

Now, for the actual answer to your question....

Format Heading 2 as if it were the Level 1 heading (The number 1 that
appears at the beginning of each chapter). Offset each level like that:
Heading 3 will be Level 2, Heading 4 will be Level 3, etc. (I hope you do not
need 9 levels!)
Format Heading 1 as either
1 point and white font with the paragraph attribute Line Spacing set at
Exactly 0.7 point (The smallest value, I believe)
or
as hidden.

Now, when you follow Shauna's procedure, attribute the level 1 of the
Outline numbeirng to Headiing 1, which will in effect be invisible, then
attribute Level 2 to your Heading 2, and so on.
After that, delete the content of the Number Format field for your Level 1.
Add the Adjust the other Number Format fields so that they look like you want.

In your document, when you start a new section, first insert a Heading 1
paragraph followed by a Heading 2 paragraph. Because the Heading 1 paragraph
is invisible, it does not matter, but it will still reset the numbering to 1
for the following heading 2 paragraph.

Does that help?

Thank you for your answer!
I will try to do as you suggested.

Because my document is actually a template that will be used by a lot of
users that will not be able to solve problems id they use the template
incorrectly, I still think that a macro will be better for this template.

If you can help me with that, I will be most gratefull!

Hi Jean-Guy Marcil!

I've tryed your suggestion and it works like a charm!!!

Thank you very much!!

but, still, maybe in other documents... whrn I will not have the option to
create another Heading before heading one, I will still have the problem to
start the numbering in each section from 1. ....

so, if you can still help me with that - it will be wonderfull!!!

Thank you for your BIGGGG!!! help so far!
