I need to flip text for an iron on transfer

Help. I want to print an iron on transfer but can't figure out how to flip
the text.

Word doesn't offer any built-in way to do this. Although you can flip small
amounts of text by using WordArt or graphics, to flip the entire contents of
your document, you will do better to look in your printer Properties for a
setting such as "Mirror image," "Flip horizontal," or "T-shirt transfer."

Thanks. My printer doesn't offer that option and I have a large amount of
text that I want flipped that won't work with Word Art, as I have specific
fonts that I want to use. You don't know if there is a way to do it in Power
Point by any chance?

No, PowerPoint won't do it either. Graphics apps like Corel and PhotoShop
can do it. Current versions of these are very expensive, but early versions
are fine for this purpose, and can be found for a few dollars at garage
sales and on eBay.

Two other methods --

1. Do the text the right way round. Copy. Paste Special as a picture. Select
the picture, then use 'Flip horizontal' on the Draw menu on the Drawing
toolbar. Graphic quality is extremely variable, and usually unacceptable.

2. Do the text the right way around. Print out onto overhead transparency.
Turn the transparency over and photocopy onto your transfer medium.

In Word2003, you could choose the "Micosoft Office Document Image Writer" as
your printer (File > Print, top of dialog).

When the document comes up in the document imaging program, you can save
pages as *.tif files, and mirror them in "Paint" or in a bitmap graphics
program of your choice.
