I need to get the Office Updates.

Domenick

I bought a computer from an estate sale. I need to take some updates, Office
XP Pro, but I don't have any CD's for this computer. It is a private build I
think and I don't know who built it. I do have Office XP Students and
Teachers addition. Will that help?

Thanks for the Help.

Domenick,
To update your Office version you will need the original installation disk(s).
Your STE XP edition will not apply to the version you purchased and want to
update.

Chris,

Thanks for the reply. If I understand you correctly, there isn't anyway I
can take the updates without the discs? Even though I bought the computer
second hand and the Office XP Pro was alrady installed?

Hi Domenick,

The edition on the face of the CDs you have and the
one listed in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control
panel need to match.

Office XP Student/Teacher's Edition is a special packaging
of Microsoft Office XP Standard Edition.

If you are not using you Office XP Student/Teacher's Edition
on another PC then you could uninstall the mismatched one from
the PC, restart and install the Student/Teacher's Edition.
