I need to install sp3 for Office 2003 but I can't

I'm running Windows XP Professional Edition on the laptop that was issued to
me by my company. I downloaded SP3 for Office 2003 and tried to install it.
Little did I know that you need the CD to accompany this install or be
connected on the office network. Because I'm a traveling consultant, I'm not
in the office and my work depends greatly on Office 2003. I can't access ANY
of my documents. I tried utilizing the VPN client but that doesn't work.
What can I do?

Ask your companies IT support if they can ship you the Office 2003 CD via
overnight to the hotel you are/will staying at. Other than that, you would
have to be connected to the company via VPN and know from where they
installed Office 2003 from before trying to apply the full Office 2003 SP3
update.

Simpler solution. Switch to Open Office. It doesn't have all the proprietary
fluff and uses a universal format that's open.
