I need to reformat a document for printing....

I have a document that is laid out for 5.5 x 8.5 page (half sheet). I need
to take this to a copier place and have 5000 copies made. They said I should
have it set up on a 8.5 x 11 sheet, with 2 of the same sheet next to each
other and that I should have an offset alternating on the odd and even pages
for binding.

I currently have my doc set up with the even/odd pages offset, but only 1
per half size paper.

How should I reset this up? I am trying to get it to the printers today and
there are over 100 pages. I need to do this quickly and hopefully easily.

If you've already got half-size pages set up, you can't use "Two pages per
sheet" (either in Page Setup or in Print), and that would not be efficient
for printing the same page twice, anyway. Change the page size to 11 x 8.5,
give it a 5.5" gutter (or add 5.5" to the Inside margin), and then run each
page through the printer twice, rotating the paper between printings.

DARN!!!! I was HOPING for an EASY solution!
What I have been working on doing is to have a 11x8.5 with a 1.5" gutter and
then cut and past page the odd pages in each column.
and for the even pages, a 1" gutter, but a 1.5 left margin. - They wanted a
soft and a hard copy at the printers.
Would this work?

Is there a way to do page numbers so that the will do just ODD or just EVEN?

Help!!!!
I NEED to get this to the printers before 10AM PST!!!

Thanks

Won't help with soft copy, but you might look at
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Formatting/BookletPrinting.htm. Or, if it
would work just as well to have *different* pages on the same sheet, I'd
start with the "Two pages per sheet" setup in Page Setup. This actually
gives you (both in printing and in the file itself) two logical pages on
each physical page, with access to all the page setup options, page numbers,
page borders, etc., for individual pages.
