I need to type on a line in wod doc w/out it deleting or moving

How do I set up a word doc that will allow me to type on a line without that
line deleting or moving? e.g., If I was to type:

1. Name _____________ (how can I type my name on this line and keep the
line in place).

One way to do this is using tab stops and underlining. Using your example
below and showing hidden characters it would look something like:

1. Name<space><start underline><space>Shelly<tab><end underline>

In this example you would set a tab stop at the position where you want the
underline to extend to, e.g. at the 4" position. By putting your cursor just
before the tab character, it will show it underlined without moving or
deleting.

You cannot if the line was created using underscore characters.
