I no longer have spell check on Outlook

I recently uninstalled the demo version of Office 2003 (I use Office 97).
Now, when ever I try to send a email, I get a "The spell check on this
document was halted. Do you want to send anyway?" message. If I navigate to
Tools>Spelling, I get an "An error occured while the spelling was being
checked." This is new since I uninstalled the demo version.
