I\O error 6 - I've all ready tried MS fix on MS KB 236872

A Laptop running Win XP SP 2 with Office 2000 is getting an unexpected error
occurred - I/O Error 6 when trying to use the Save As function in Powerpoint.
I found a fix in the KB article 236872 to delete a registry key. This works
for a day or 2 then it is back to getting this error. I've searched
everywhere trying to find a cause or permenant fix without luck. Please
help. Thanks!!
