When I try to save a file (any file) in PowerPoint, I get two error
messages: "An Unexpected Error occurred I/O Error 6", and "PowerPoint found
an error it can't correct. You should save the presentation, and then
restart PowerPoint"...except I cannot save the presentation, and the only way
I can get out of PowerPoint is CTL/ALT/DEL to End Task.
Knowledge Base Article 262861 had these error messages, so I followed the
instructions to repair the registry. Everything seemed to go fine...but I
still get the same error messages.
I tried intalling the Office Update SP 3...it said it installed
successfully, although I kept getting a message that it couldn't find the
SPexe file after it prompted me to put in the original Office CD...but I
still can't save a PowerPoint file.
Prior to attempting the registry fix, I ran MSICU.exe to clean up the
Windows Installer (I had to do that a while back in order to get Publisher to
install)...didn't help.
Oh - if it matters, I'm running Windows 98SE.
Any ideas? Thanks!
