I only have 1 PCMCIA slot and external CD ROM drive

I have a compact SOny laptop that has an external CD Rom dirve. My unit onyl
has 1 PCMCIA slot which I also use for my Wireless G card to connect to the
website for updates and downloads.
My problems occurs when I am attempting to download the Office Updates and
it asks for my SR-1 disk. I cannot do BOTH. SO when I dismount the CD card,
I have lost the connection to Microsofts Office Upgrade site and have to stop.

I need the updates and can't seem to get them without have two slots...which
my unit does not have nor can I add it.
