Everything in Word is in English, except for when I open the project gallery. The templates are all in French. How do I change this? I'm very confused.

I think you might find that parts of the templates are in "Dog Latin"

Google for "lorem ipsum..." and all will become clear.

Hello Ryan -

The templates are not "in French" -- what you're seeing is nothing more than
placeholder text (and graphics) which suggests what type of content should
go where. You are intended to select & replace it with your own content once
you create your new document.

very strange. makes sense though. is there a way to get rid of it? in older versions of word when i've used the templates it gives a brief description of the information you need to include in that section.

You can navigate to & open them just like any other type of file, then make
& save whatever changes you wish. If you do, though, I'd suggest that you
not save back to the original template file. Instead, when you first open
the template use File> Save As to save your modified version in the My
Templates location using whatever name you prefer. Then make & save your
changes to the new template file [just be sure to keep the same .dotx or
..dotm extension].

Alternatively you can go through the PG to create a new file based on one of
the templates & Save As a .dotx in the My Templates folder with whatever
changes you want to make. I find the other approach more convenient.

That way your custom templates will all be available from the My Templates
category in the Project Gallery so you won't have to track them down each
time you want to create a new file.
