When I print a document in Word the page is blank. I know there is ink in the
cartridge because I can print outside of Word program.

Even though you are able to print from other applications your ink can't be
ruled out just yet. :) You may be using the Automatic font color in Word
which even though it looks black a color blend might be used instead of your
black ink cartridge. Try changing the font color of a sample document to
black (don't use Automatic, make sure you are using Black) and try printing
again.

Does Print Preview show a blank document? If the document consists entirely
of wrapped graphics and text boxes, make sure that "Drawing objects" is
checked on the Print tab of Tools | Options.

If that's not the issue, and if this is a small-format document, it could be
that the printer is printing somewhere other than where the paper is. Try
printing a full sheet to see where Word and the printer think the document
is. If you can't work out a way to feed the paper where the printer wants to
print it, then you'll need to use the full-sheet paper size and make up the
difference with margin adjustments.
