I published my web site and it's all computer jargon when viewed.

I am forced to use Pub 2003 due to my usual site builder being down for the
next week, so I am new to using Pub 2003. I made 10 pages to add to my site,
they looked good in the publisher and when viewed in browser, but when I
published them, they were all computer language and nothing like what I made.
The only thing I could find that WAS right was the payment button, which was
in html when I put it on the payment page. This may be a stupid question, but
I can not find the answer in the help section. Am I supposed to make my site
in html? Or can I make it like it is supposed to look when published? I have
asked that little paper clip this question in about 50 different ways and I
get nothing but very vague answers to look at. It says I need to save it as a
..pub file, but I have used every option and none of them put .pub at the end
of my file. What am I doing wrong here?
