The look of the layout could be better.
For instance why there is a navigation "bar".
Just put buttons for the notebooks and the expansion button like in adobe
acrobat icons on the left for pages.
The layout could be made much better.
The ms guys are not bad in the design.
But they are too slow to have innovative changes.
Something is very much constrainign them, I feel it.
Changes come too slow.
Let it be because they need to be consistent with all other office
applications...
Or there is soemthing else.
Maybe they are indeed not so innovative in design.

Anyway, in its current form, ON is good enough already.

I'm glad you are, dare I say, excited about it. :)

I'm not :-(
Not at all.

The ribbon is an obstacle on a TabletPC with 1024*768 resulution.
Ther should at least be an otion to switch it off.

Having used the ribbon in the other apps for almost 2 years now, I can tell
you all you need to do is set the ribbon to auto hide. Its no different than
having the ribbon exposed, you just click the ribbon title when you need
something and it is right there.

Keeps all your realestate available, but gets rid of the screen hog the
ribbon might appear to be at first.

I collapse all the toolbars in outlook for example, exposing all of the
message in the primary view, allowing the right and left bars to collapse. In
all the other ribbon based apps other than in composing an email, I auto hide
everything.

Just double tap on the menu and its done.

Put that in place on a tablet and you are probably going to be happy with
it...
