Hi All:

I can see the project in MSP_PROJECT table but not in the list of all the
projects when I try to open through Project Pro 2002 (File -> Open) and it
does not show in project center in PWA. We use Project Server 2002 SP1.

On talking with project manager, I found that on publish this project failed
and hung up the application. This project was never deleted from Project
Server.

Please advise if you are aware of this problem and recommend a solution for
this.

Thanks,
I-Ali

Try the following:
1. Check the security and verify that you have access to the project.
2. Verify that the record in the msp_projects table has proj_type=1 (a
project and not a template) and that proj_version=published.
3. Check for obvious differences (aka corruption) between this project's
record and other project's record in the msp_projects table.

I-Ali,

I gave an answer to this question as well on the ms.public.project.server NG. Check there. Bottom line is you need to get the project to publish successfully.

And, as a courtesy to other newsgroup users, you should really not cross-post questions. It makes it hard to track questions and answers.

I posted at both places because I wanted to get a developer's perspective on
this topic. I cannot locate the project in the list of available projects in
Microsoft Project Pro despite me being an administrator. In order for me to
publish, it should show up in the list of available projects. If I could
publish it successully, I would not have posted it in the Developer
discussion group.

They are two separate newsgroup, why should the Q&A be difficult to track.
They are two separate threads.

Ed:

Thanks for your reply.

1. I am an administrator therefore I have access to all the projects.

2. When I look at the data in the tables, the corrupt project record shows
up as proj_type=100 and proj_version=published. I found two more projects
that show this type of data.

I am also seeing projects that have proj_type =100 and proj_version=null.
What do these project represent?

The resglobal shows up a proj_type=3 and version=null and there are two
enterpriseglobal. One is a type and anolther is a type 2 and both are version
NULL.

Does this represent data corruption? What corrective actions can I take? If
I delete these records from MSP_PROJECTS, my guess is that I would need to go
and delete records from all of the related tables as well.

Thanks,
I-Ali

PS: All regular projects appear as type=0 and version=published.

I-Ali,

Two separate threads and asking the very same question is exactly the problem. Strictly speaking your problem/question is not a development question either. There is no "developer" solution to your situation. Anyone that reads and replies to posts here will have asked for the same courtesy to not cross-post.

In answer to your problem, your going to have to find an offline copy of the plan and republish it or just start from scratch.

The PWA option is set to Enable Enterprise features. What exactly is a
"Created Regular Project". Can you please throw some light?

Also, what corrective action can be taken to fix this problem. Please advise.

Thanks,
I-Ali
