I send attachments with OUtlook, my recipients cannot open

When I send an e-mail with an attachment most people can not ope them. If i
send the same attachment via aol the recipient can ope it easily. is there a
setting I need to change?

First thing to make sure is that you're not using Rich Text Format.

You need to compose your message in either Plain Text or HTML format. Only
another Outlook client can read attachments when you compose in Rich Text
format.
