I sent a fax by Word but the receivers said the fax had shrunk?

I sent a fax by Word to a HP LaserJet printer. The receiver said the fax had
shrunk by 20-30%. The problem is that HP LaserJet 3030 has a function of "fit
to page". Once "fit to page" is off, there is no shrinkage. However, I need
to send to many other people and I could not ask them to turn off that
function if they also use similar printers. How could I by-pass that function?
