I updated Office and now I can't email through outlook express

I just updated security updates for Office 2003 and now I cannot email
through Outlook Express. It told me I need to set up a profile for Outlook,
which I did. I am able to email through outlook, however, I prefer to use
Outlook Express for its address book hot-sync capabilities with Hotmail.

Is Outlook Express still selected as your default email program
in Start | Control Panel | Internet Options | Programs?

You fixed it. Thank you. I had checked for that somewhere else and it
appeared to show Outlook Express as the default mail client, but it was not
correct where you told me to look. I tried it and it worked.

I have the same situation. Ever since the security upodates I got on the
22nd, no more Hotmail access. I have the free hotmail. It has worked
perfectly up until now. Have they finally cut off all free access? I was told
when it changes to a fee for access that old accounts like mine would
continue to work. Guess time ran out...

Got it sorted. KB904942 fixed it right up.
