I wander when opening document of Office 2003

I have been installing Windows XP with SP2, McAfee VScan 7.1.0, Office 2003,
Pacote Multilingual (Portuguese) and Service Pack 1 of Office 2003. When
trying to open a document of Office 2002 or Office 2000 the system it comes
back me a mistake message informing: Do I " wander in the Word when trying to
open the file ", this message he/she refers to the file as if he was rotten,
anybody has some clue for this problem?

Try using the Open and Repair setting.
