I WANT PHOTO EDITOR. Removing it was very, very unfriendly.

In you have a version of Office with Photo Editor, do a custom installation
and only install Photo Editor.

Which edition, Don? I too am desperate to get back Photo Editor, which was
IMHO the best little photo editing program around. I have the files but I
can't get it to recognize .jpg images (it was my default .jpg viewer before I
formatted my hard drive). I've tried re-associating the files from the Tool
menu, but no joy.

I'm trying to find out which older versions of Office include Photo Editor
as I dont' want Office XP. Does Microsoft Office 2000 Premium edition
include it? Or just the standard. Please help me.

Thanks,
Anne

As I was not a user of Photo Editor, I am not sure what prior versions of
Office included it. However, you appear to have had Photo Editor is what
ever version of Office you were using prior to installing Office 2003 which
installed Picture Manger in place of Photo Editor.

So just use the version of Office you had prior to Office 2003. BTW:
Office 2000 Premium Edition include all the application that were included
in Office 2000 Standard.

Hi Anne,

MS Office Photo Editor was introduced in Office v4 (1993)
and was in all editions up through Office v10 (XP/2002)

For the association issue method 1 will only work with
Office 97 (v8) but method 2 should work with Office 2000
and Office XP as well.

Sometimes it's simpler to delete the existing association
then repoint to the app you want to use next time you double
click on a particular file type and get prompted for what
program to use.
