I want to export my database

Hi All,

I got this database project, which consists of a some tables, forms, queries
and .... Any way I have created this project for someone else and need to
copy it onto his computer. The problem is I don't know how. I copied the
main file to his computer and surprisingly only the names of the database
objects such as tables, and forms and... were copied and nothing else. No
properties, and even data was transferred with it.

Anyway, how could I copy a complete project to another place on my computer.

How are you copying the database? Are you using Windows
Explorer to copy the .MDB file?

Yes. Icopy the database file from it's location. While I couldn't use any of
the items in the File menu, such as save as, export and ...

What should I do?

Is the "main file" in fact just a frontend? Many Access databases are
"split" - the frontend contains the forms, reports, etc. and only
*links* to the data. This is depicted in the database window by
showing a bold black arrow by the name of each table.

If you copy the frontend to another machine, you will need to relink
the backend (using Tools... Linked Table Manager) if the backend is on
the same network, or you'll need to also copy the backend to a network
node accessible from the new computer (and relink).

NO it is not a fronted. I got every thing in just one file. Can u tell me
what is wrong?

Please describe just what it is that you copied and how. Does your
friend have Access (not just the runtime but full Access) installed?

Hi,

Well I have copied the .MDB file. There is one thing I must add. I have
created the project in Win98, while I wanted to open it on a computer which
is running under Win XP. I use special unicodes (My data base is in Farsi)
Do u think this could be the problem?

I'm sure that is possible, but I have very little experience with
diverse alphabets in databases. Might it be that the recipient just
doesn't have the needed fonts? Can they see anything at all, even
random looking non-alphabetic characters?
