i want to know technical reason

Hi,
I have submitted a problem in which i was asking about project professional
is not connecting from england into pakistan.
the answer was that use citrix and terminal server or pcanywhere.

pls give me technical reason of this.

Because nobody in their right minds leaves SQL ports open to the Internet.
You can do it though, but the performance and timeouts will beat you down if
your projects are anything but very small.
