Hello,
I recently consolidated my company's two e-mail systems (Outlook 2003
and Netscape 7) into a single system (Outlook 2003). We have internal
e-mail running through Exchange, and I set up secondary e-mail
accounts for our outbound e-mail which is hosted by our ISP. The
staff are a little befuddled by having to remember to choose an e-mail
account from the drop-down list when composing a new outbound e-mail,
so to avoid confusion, I would like to void the need of switching
accounts, so that if my boss wants to e-mail Judy, he can just send
something to (e-mail address removed).
The problem is that in Outlook, because it is tied to exchange, picks
up <Judy> from Exchange in the Global Addresses, and it also picks up
(e-mail address removed) from the Contacts folder. I would prefer to either set
Contacts as the default address book in Outlook 2003 and delete Global
Addresses from the list of addresses that appear. I cannot find a way
for Outlook to ignore or omit the Global Addresses coming in from
Exchange.
If there's a way to do this (or a better strategy), I'd like to know.
We like having our e-mail hosted by our ISP.
Humbly,
Andrew
PS -- I'll post this concurrently on the Exchange group, too, but
wanted feedback from the Outlook community as well.
