I want to set an alternative reply e-mail default

I use an e-mail forwarder (foreever e-mail from my college @alumni.cm.edu)
that forwards to my dsl provider e-mail address. (@verizon.net)

If I set up the account with the reply to e-mail, my dsl provider blocks it
(to prevent spoofing I'm told), but I can change it on each individual e-mail
by clicking the options and changing the reply to.

Is there anyway to default my reply e-mail so it always showns the
alternative I want to use?

I know how to set up accounts in Outlook, so not "guru" but pretty expert.

Thanks in advance
Ron

So you want to change the reply to address field in outlook's account setup
to use the other address? Are you authenticating with the outgoing mail
server? Many isps will accept alternate addresses if you authenticate.

note this field is not the From field - it’s the reply to field and when
people hit reply, it would go to this address.

Thanks so much for your reply.

I am using Outlook 2007 and here is what I have tried:

In the User Information in the E-mail Account set up, I put my
@alumni.cmu.edu address but even when putting the verizon address under
outgoing server authentication (log in as), it fails the testing and will not
send e-mails.

In the more settings area, I did put the alumni.cmu.edu address in the
general reply to box, but this does nto seem to work (when I send e-mails to
my friends, they don't get the reply address).

Thanks again for responding, any other ideas?

Ron
