I want to use MapPoint 2004 with Outlook as default map

It worked yesterday, didn't change anything. Using Outlook with business
contact mananger. Has a feature for looking up address' for your contacts.
Loaded MapPoint and want to use it with outlook. It worked yesterday, but
cannot get it to work today.

Try the following suggestions:

Please Follow the order of steps suggested, if Step 1 fails move to Step 2
and so
on

1. Verify that the MapPoint Office Add-in is selected in Outlook: go to
"Tools",

"Options", "Other", "Advanced Options", click "COM Add-ins..." and verify
that the

option MapPoint Office Add-in is selected. If it is not, and repeatedly
refuses to

stay checked, then remove and reinstall the COM Add-in (MSOAI9.dll) and
reboot the

computer.

To Remove and Re-Install the COM Add-In:
A. Start Outlook.
B. Click "Tools", "Options".
C. Switch to the "Other" tab, click the "Advanced Options" button.
D. Click the "COM Add-Ins..." button.
E. If "MapPoint Office Add-In" is listed, select it, then click
"Remove".
F. Click "Add", and then browse to the following file:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Geography\MPOAI9.dll

G. Double click the file to reinstall the "MapPoint Office Add-In", and
then

click "OK" 3 times to close the open windows.

3.Enable the ''COM+System Application'' From the services tab of the System
Configuration Utility
A.Click Start then Click Run..
B.Type msconfig in the open box
C.Click hte Services Tab
D.Under the List of Services , Select 'COM+System Application''
E.Click OK
F.Click Restart.

Note the above Step works Most of the times OR Else Follow the steps given

If the anti -virus software is Norton AV and Customer is running Office XP
with SP

Follow these steps

Disable Microsoft Office Documents Protection given by Norton
A.In Norton Start Options (The Step you need to take vary depending on
the
version of Norton)
B.In the selection title Other Click Miscellaneous .
C.In the center you''ll find "Enable Office Plug-in"
D.Remove the tick to disable it .
E.Click OK
F.Recomend Restart.
