I tried the flicker free code here:

uses the caption property of our labels quite a bit! Also the lack of
transparency looks a right mess and I've not seen a solution for that yet.
It's a real shame to just disable theming as the majority of the application
looks fantastic themed. I'm clutching at straws but I don't suppose there's
a way to enable or disable theming on a form by form or control by control
basis is there? Or can anyone recommend an active x tab control that works
better? You'd think MS simply would have not themed tab controls seeing as
they don't work!
