I would like to use Office Home edition on a 2nd computer in home

We installed a second computer in our home and I would like to use Office
Home edition on this computer, do I need to purchase it again? I tried to
install it but was told it is already in use.

(1) There is no such thing as Office Home Edition.

(2) Yes, you must buy it again. If you purchased Office at your local
software store, you are allowed to install it on one desktop and one laptop.
But you cannot use them at the same time. If Office came preinstalled on
your computer, it's one computer only - and only that specific computer.

Not my rules.

The Office Home Use program only allows for installation on one computer.
Ask your work if you are able to install on a second computer or if they
will give you an unused Home Use license that someone else is not using.

I see you have plenty of replies on this but I thought I'd suggest you take
a look at OpenOffice on the second computer. It will open most MS Office
files and will create files that MS Office can open and the price is
right... free! You may find it'll do most of what you need done.

Hope this helps!

Sorry I missed you - looked for you at the Office Program dinner but missed.

Actually, the program is called Home Use Program and is a part of Software
Assurance that Microsoft offered to customers to "apologize" for having
missed any Office/Windows new releases during the SA agreement period.
