Your question is a bit open ended. If you have specific issues, then post
back with more details. In the mean time here are some references for you:

You might also go to Help in Publisher > table of contents > Publisher and

I have completed the website and published it to the web and saved the two
files it produced (index.htm and index_files) then uploaded to the web via a
ftp site(filezilla) but when i view my site on the web none of the links to
the other pages and email addresses work but if i preview the site in the
index.htm folder it all works fine where am i going wrong?

Typically this is because you are forwarding/framing the true physical
location of your site, and the relative links created by Publisher then
don't work. Please post the URL for the site.

If you hover your mouse over the links, you will notice that they point to
links on your hard drive. This can happen if you are using a master page in
your Pub doc. Master pages are for print docs, not the web. Redo your Pub
doc without using a master page, delete your files on your host and upload
new. And, if you are using a form as your links imply, you need to use http
uploading protocol with FPSE. Its possible that you have already corrupted
the FPSE by using ftp uploading, and may need to have your host reinstall
FPSE. Read the following articles by David Bartosik about uploading for more
understanding:

Sorry to be a pain in the butt but i have only been using a computer for a
few weeks and when i hover my mouse over the links i dont see anything as for

You are doing pretty good for only a few weeks...but you need some more
learnin' ;-)

When you open your website in your browser, Internet Explorer I would
assume, then point your mouse at one of the links. Then look at the bottom
of the window at the status bar and you can see how the link is written. In
your case it thinks the page is still on your hard drive, your C drive, and
this error can be caused by the use of a Master Page in your Publisher
document.

Go to Help and enter Master page in the Search For field and read the
material provided. Also search for the term 'background' while you are at
it. You might also familiarize yourself with the table of contents for
future reference. Then you should be able to understand what I mean by the
master page, and how to remove it and replace it with a background.

I would then run the Design Checker under Tools to see if that spots any
other issues.

Then I recommend that you follow the links I provided earlier and invest
some time reading and understanding that material if you want to pursue
building your own website, and especially the articles about uploading your
website. Invest some time now to save time in the future...

Good luck.

I am having a similar problem with publisher 2007. I cleared the background
picture I had on the master page and it hasn't fixed the problem. Also, when
I upload it to godaddy they put up a banner and it shoves my page all the way
over to the right and you have to scroll over to see it. Any ideas?

I dug through the index file in html and fixed most of the links, there are a
few that aren't fixed but my frustration level is through the roof. Very
tedious to find and fix them all. Does anyone know how to fix the publisher
file so I don't have to manually change all the links?

Don't use the master page at all in a Publisher web. Usually the problem
with the links pointing to the C drive is because you put the navbar on the
Master Page. Put everything on the main page.

As per the shifting problem, that is because Publisher uses absolute
positioning in its code, and that is not compatible with the GoDaddy free
hosting service. There is a possibility of a hand coded edit of the html
code, but you would have to do this each time you change your Pub file and
produce new web pages, so it probably isn't very practical. Your best
solution is to step up and spend the $4 a month for paid hosting without the
banner, but if you want to try the code that you need to manually edit, let
me know.

The master page is clear. Nothing on it at all. For right now the club is not
willing to pay the funds to get rid of the bar, what do I have to do to
change the code? I am having trouble learning other web authoring programs
since it would be easier, but I cannot figure out how to make microsoft
expression web log into the godaddy ftp site, which keeps me from using it.

I found this workaround for the GoDaddy issue posted some time ago by Troy:

David - I found this workaround that seems to work pretty well:

Instructions for publishing to an ad-supported free web site through GoDaddy
using MS Publisher

1. Publish website to folder on local computer first
2. Open "index.html" in browser window
3. Under the "Page" pulldown menu, select "View Source." This displays a
..txt file, showing the html code.
4. Using find & replace (under the "edit" menu), search for the first
instance of the word, "absolute" in the html code, and replace it with the
word "relative."
5. This process must be repeated for each page individually, by navigating
to each locally-published page from within a web browser, viewing the source
html code, replacing the first instance of "absolute" with "relative," then
saving the file before navigating to the next page.
6. Once finished making changes, the locally saved "index.htm" file and
accompanying folder must be copied and pasted, via ftp client to your
GoDaddy
website, and "voila," you should be up and running!"

As per the links, after looking at your site http://www.girfc.org/ it
appears that you fixed them. They aren't pointing to your C drive and seem
to be functional.
