ICal meeting requests

D

Don Gollahon

I would like to send all emails as HTML except meeting requests. I want
meeting requests to send as Rich Text Format so meetings will transfer
properly. Is there a way to do this?

Outlook version? IS your mail server Exchange? If so, what version?

OL 2003 at home and work.

At work we have Exchange server version 2003. We have Microsoft® Office
Outlook® Web Access for Exchange Server 2003, too

Also, at work, my Outlook has the "When sending meeting requests over the
Internet, use ICalendar format" grayed out so I can't turn it on.

Try setting the recipient address for rich-text format. I think that if you
compose an HTML message it will still go in HTML, but RTF items, like
meeting requests, will not be converted to Internet format (i.e. iCal).

How do I get "When sending meeting requests over the Internet, use
ICalendar format" to not be grayed out at work so I can turn it on?

That setting is available only if you are using Internet mail accounts. What
version of Exchange are you connecting to?

Exchange 2003.

I tried to send a test Meeting request from work to my home email. The
Email is just sitting in the outbox and will not send. I have it set to RTF
format right now.

Exchange 2003 should automatically convert meeting requests to iCal.

An item not sending is a different issue. Try opening the item in the
Outbox, switching from the Outbox to the Inbox, then clicking Send. Don't
look at the Outbox again -- let the server send the message.
