It seems Outlook 2002 ignores the timezone when u try and import a ics
file. My ics file is as follows:
-----
BEGIN:VCALENDAR
VERSION:1.0
BEGIN:VEVENT
DTSTART;TZID=Eastern Time (US & Canada):20030705T150000
DTEND;TZID=Eastern Time (US & Canada):20030705T160000
LOCATION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:I'll call you
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:No description.. its a test
SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Test Event
PRIORITY:3
END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDAR
-----
The event time should be 3-4pm Eastern. The timezone on my machine is
Eastern w/ DST enabled. However, when i click on the ics file, outlook
assumes the time to be 11-12 Eastern.
How can I get Outlook to recognize the timezone?? I dont want to
convert the time to UTC.. Can I simply specify the timezone?
Some Background:
The ics file(s) are generated dynamically by my site. The site has an
event listing and amongst other things stores the date, time and
timezone for each event.
