icon change

when I save a word document the file saves with the doc
extension but the icon changes to the Access icon. the
next time I try to open the document it tries to open in
Access instead of Word. How would this happen?

Seems like somewhow the default application was changed.
To fix this, right-click on the file, go to Properties,
and see if Word is listed as the Opens With program, if
not, change it back to Word.
