Icon to appear in the address bar?

I have noticed on many websites, an icon appears in the address bar infront
of the http:, this icon also appears under bookmarks (for example, on
msn.com the butterfly appears before the address and as an icon under my
bookmarks.) How do I add an icon for my website? Thanks.
