Icons disappear from my toolbars

I have customized my toolbars. They remained so for some time. About a week
ago I started having this problem. Every time I exit Excel, all customized
settings disappear from my toolbars.

All customisations to your toolbar file are held in a file called Excel.xlb
which is held in the Application Data folder of your profile. If you search
for this file (It may be hidden) check the modified date, make some changes
to your toolbar and see if the date changes. If it does then I am a bit
stumped, but if it doesn't try deleting it and start again. (Excel will make
a new one)
