Two question? We have Access in a server. When we split the database can
the front end of the database that appears on each computer have an Icon much
like you have it in a shortcut. also how can you have Icons remain with the
database. Sometimes when the shortcut is place on the desk top the icon has
to be reconnected.

Do you mean that you have installed Access on the server, and each user is
executing it from there? There are a couple of good reasons why that isn't
a good idea -- the first being that fetching programs, etc., across the LAN
is not good for performance; the other is that an Access license is required
for each user and that is not "relieved" by using it from a Server. Or
perhaps you only mean you have the Access database on the server?

But, please note that I am NOT accusing you of running without the proper
number of licenses, as you could well have a license for each user and still
have some reason for wanting them all to be executing a copy from the
server. But, I surmise from your question that you do not have Access, nor
the Access runtime, installed on each user's computer, or the icon would
automatically be there.
