icons missing in Customize

Hi gang - I'm having a strange little problem with my Toolbars. I created
some very simple macros, stuck them on the Formatting Toolbar by accident and
want to put them on a different Toolbar. I go to Customize and the Icons
vanish! I close customize and they re-appear! I've read some of the other
postings but don't see anything that helps. Running Xp Pro and Word 2002

Hi --- I found the answer by accident, but still not sure why it should do
this. I had opened a .dot called Carole to work on it - once I copied it to
Normal.dot it works fine. Hmm. Oh well at least I can now get on with what I
was doing ---
